Shreveport Personal Trainer – Jalapeno Burger

Posted on 08. Dec, 2010 by in Blog

First, I apologize for not adding the little wavy thing above the “n” in “jalapeno.”  But, I couldn’t find that key on this keyboard.  So please, bear with me, and please, PLEASE don’t read that pepper’s name as “jalla pen no.”  That would be horrible.

“Jalla pen no.”

See, you’re already doing that.

Sorry.

ANYWAY, I also have a confession – I totally stole the image of the jallapenno hamburger I attached in this post.  Thing is, I ate the fruits of my labor immediately after they were finished.  I mean, I just fixed them up, sat down to go over some digital paperwork, and thinking, “man, there has to be something I was supposed to do.”

Shreveport Personal Trainer Hamburger

What to Get

  • 3 tablespoons, tomato paste (I actually just mashed the heck out of some tomma toes to make this)
  • 4 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
  • 1 teaspoon, cilantro
  • 1 pound, lean ground beef (I used the 90/10)
  • 4 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

How to Use What You Got

  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, jalapenos, garlic, tomato paste and cilantro.
  • Form mixture into desired number of patties (I just made two, cuz that’s how I roll.)
  • Cover both sides of patties with desired amount of Cajun seasoning
  • Grill 4 to 5 minutes each side, flippin’ till they run clear

I also have been using the Pepperidge Farm “Very Thin” bread for everything lately.  Just a good toastin’, and they’re good to go.

So, my awesome people, cook, eat, enjoy, and let me know how it all turned out.

And if you liked this recipe, please forward it, email it, print it out and give it to somebody you like.  The more people eating healthier, the happier I’ll be.
