Shreveport Personal Trainer – Eggs Came First

Posted on 17. Nov, 2010 by in Blog

There is a great philosophical and biological debate raging:  which came first, the chicken, or the egg?  The chicken, as we all know, lays eggs.  But chickens also come from eggs.  So, science, what gives?

I dunno.  This is about breakfast.

Eggs Are Good For You, Dangit

Here’s What You Need

  • 1 teaspoon, Omega-3 Enriched Butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 slice, non-processed cheese (American cheese, is what I mean)
  • 1 omega-3 enriched egg*
  • Handful of almonds
  • Something non-sugary to drink.  Like coffee.  Cool people still drink coffee, yeah?

Here’s How You Do It

  1. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and milk; pour into skillet.
  3. Cook until bubbles appear, then flip over.
  4. Cover with cheese.
  5. Cook 10 seconds, or until cheese is melted.

*Here’s the thing – it’s one egg . . . for some of you.  For men, above 200#, I recommend thee eggs.  Or, if you’re athletic (beyond the goals of weight loss, now working on other goals, or improving athletic performance), the same.

Me, I eat four-five eggs, every morning, and I’m 190.  Pounds, not years.

If you’re not sure of how many you should eat, start with one, and go based on your hunger.

The almonds, BTW, are SUPER-IMPORTANT.  They give you some great, healthy fats which get your body primed for fat-burning-for-energy-all-damn-day-time.  So, don’t skimp on those.

As always, your questions, pictures of your breakfast, or comments are more than welcome!
